The Ikenga Super Stars of Africa was a prominent Igbo “guitar highlife” band active from 1973 to 1984, led by Vincent Okoroego, a former member of Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe’s Nigerian Soundmakers. They popularized a fast-paced highlife style called “Ikwokilikwo” and recorded several LPs, becoming one of the most beloved Nigerian band groups.
